Origins

How ETHIQAIS began

Everything started with a simple question: How can we make AI responsible and secure without slowing down progress?

2021

Work begins on ethics of autonomous systems and AI governance

2023

Project launched to meet the urgent need for AI compliance and governance at scale

Late 2023

Start of incubation at SEMIA and first proof of concept

2024

ETHIQAIS officially founded in Strasbourg with the goal to lead European AI governance

Engagement

Standards and public engagement

We are active members of the European AI Alliance and contribute to the European Commission and the Council of Europe CAI.

We work with national bodies including the services of the Prime Minister and AFNOR. Our team contributes to international standardization through ISO, AFNOR, CEN CENELEC.
